our city film festival

dc is more than monuments, politics and traffic.

what's yachad? (yah-hod)

What makes us a particularly unique film festival is that we are run by a local nonprofit called Yachad. Yachad means together in Hebrew.

Yachad is a nonprofit that brings communities together by preserving affordable homes and revitalizing neighborhoods. The film festival sprouted from the mission of bringing communities together. Yachad thought that for a couple of days every year they could change the method in which they bring people together from working on repair projects to viewing films. In addition, all of the films screened highlight the diverse cultures, interesting neighborhoods and fascinating residents that live in our city. Throughout the year, Yachad works hard to preserve this diversity, revitalize these neighborhoods and unite these residents.
